Behind The Scenes: Diesel

Diesel. What can I tell you about Diesel?

Well, first, the pantry cupboard and the electric meter that used to reside there are very much real, as is my childhood love of Thomas The Tank Engine. But the rest of it came out of letting my fingers go free to type whatever words they felt like typing.

I love the idea of a recurring dream that you can add to the more you visit it, although perhaps the recurring dream of this story wouldn’t be somewhere anyone would want to go more than once. I also love the idea that this character had their safe place (at least in daylight hours) where they were free to let their imagination run riot. Perhaps all the rest is a little (lot) far-fetched, and for that I’m actually thankful: who’d want someone else’s bad life experiences to make a regular appearance in their own dreams?
